# Overview

**$KORE** is the primary token that powers Legends of Venari. It gives players real ownership and control over the game's economy. The KORE token drives a deep player-driven economy where all assets are created, traded, and governed by players.

## Utility

With **$KORE**, players can:

* **Ascension:** Bringing Venari and in game items onchain
* **Marketplace:** The primary currency in player driven marketplaces across chains
* **In-game:** Primary currency in game for premium shop.

### Ascension

Ascension is the process of bringing Venari and in game items onchain.To ascend, players collect **Ascension Shards** from in-game activities and visit an ascension terminal.

Each Venari and item in the game has a different amount of **Ascension Shards** required to ascend. Once ascended, players can trade their items on the marketplace.

### Marketplace

Each chain world hosts an integrated marketplace where players can buy and sell Venari and items. These marketplaces are localized and independent from one another fostering a true player driven economy.

The fees for each transaction are redistributed to Nodes of that chain.

### In-game

Players can use **$KORE** to purchase premium items in the game's shop. Premium shop items have a limited supply and usually rotate over time. **$KORE** spent in-game is redistributed to Nodes.

* **Inventory storage upgrades:** Increase the amount of items a player can carry.
* **Premium Pheremones:** Pheremones are consumables that drastically increase the rate of encounter for specific Venari.
* **Venari Storage upgrades:** Increase the amount of Venari a player can store.
